Les salles 1 et 2 au 2e étage ont été réservées et nous espérons vous voir en grand nombre non seulement à notre AGA, mais aussi à notre buffet annuel qui sera servi dès 17 h 30. Comme nous aurons un permis de la SAQ, vous êtes invité à apporter votre boisson alcoolisée ou non alcoolisée préférée.

Our next Annual General Assembly will be held on Thursday June 22 at the Robert-Middlemiss Pavilion at 7 p.m. We hope you can all join us at our AGM as well as our annual buffet which will start at 5:30 p.m. BYOB as we will have an alcohol serving permit from SAQ.
Une mise à jour de notre événement de bowling, qui aura lieu ce dimanche 26 février 2023 à partir de 15h00 aux pistes de quilles d’Aylmer. Au total, à ce jour, il y aura 22 adultes et 4 enfants qui participeront à l’événement. Chaque équipe ne jouera qu’une seule partie qui devrait durer environ 1 à 1,5 heure.
Veuillez arriver tôt afin que nous soyons prêts à jouer à 15h00. Nous avons la salle de fête réservée entre 16h et 17h pour socialiser un peu plus et déguster un gâteau.

An update to our bowling event, happening this Sunday, February 26, 2023 beginning at 3:00pm at the Aylmer Bowling Lanes. Overall, to date we will be 22 adults and 4 children participating in the event. We are playing only one string which should last approximately 1-1.5 hours.
Please arrive early so we are ready to play at 3:00pm. We have the party room reserved between 4-5 pm to socialize a bit more and enjoy some cake.
Thank you and see you all this Sunday, February 26 for a community building activity.

La météo étant imprévisible ces jours-ci, le comité exécutif de JARA a pensé qu’un événement intérieur serait préférable pour tout le monde.
Le comité exécutif envisage un événement spécial pour tous les âges, jeunes et moins jeunes. L’événement est une partie de quilles en après-midi le dimanche 26 février (heure exacte à déterminer) aux pistes de quilles d’Aylmer, à côté des patinoires. Ils ont des rails spéciaux pour les plus petits, alors ils placent simplement la balle sur le rail et la laissent partir. Nous prévoyons de jouer une seule série de parties par personne, donc cela devrait durer environ 1 à 1,5 heure. L’Association couvrira les frais de bowling et de chaussures et servir le gâteau. Des collations, des croustilles et des boissons aussi sont disponibles sur place.
Si, vous êtes intéressé. Veuillez indiquer le nombre de personnes (enfants et adultes) qui seraient intéressées à participer avant le 18 février afin que nous puissions faire les réservations et nous préparer en conséquence.

The weather is unpredictable these days so the JARA Executive Committee thought an indoor event would be better for everyone.
The executive committee is considering a special event for all ages, young and old. The event is a bowling party in the afternoon on Sunday February 26 (exact time to be determined) at the Aylmer Bowling alleys, next to the ice arenas. They have special rails for the little ones so they simply place the ball on the rail and let it go. We anticipate playing only one string per person so it should last approximately 1-1.5hrs. The Association will cover the costs of bowling fees, bowling shoes and serve cake. Snacks, chips and beverages are also available on site.
If, your interested. Please indicate the number of people (children and adults) would be interested in participating by February 18th so we can make the reservations and prepare accordingly.

JARA – Jubilee Area Residents Association:
This will confirm that the Halloween Party scheduled for October 29th from 5:00PM to 9:00pm on the 2nd floor of the Robert-Middlemiss Pavilion, located at the Marina, will take place. Thank you to the residents who have ready responded to the initial notice.
It appears there was a misunderstanding in the initial notice that was sent on our JARA website and our JARA – Community Facebook page.
The party is for all members of the Association and not just restricted to families with children.
If you are interested in participating please confirm either by email to johnbeverdam@hotmail.com or confirm in the Forum section of our website no later than Monday October 24, 2022 so we can ensure there is enough pizzas for everyone to enjoy.
Also, we have obtained a liquor license for the occasion so bring your favourite wine or beverage (BYOB).

Nous confirmons que la fête d’Halloween prévue le 29 octobre de 17 h à 21 h aura lieu au 2e étage du pavillon Robert Middlemiss de la marina d’Aylmer. Merci aux résidents qui ont d’abord répondu à l’invitation.
Il semble y avoir eu un malentendu dans l’invitation initiale qui a été envoyée sur le site Web de l’ARQJ et notre page Facebook.
La célébration est ouverte à tous les membres de l’Association et ne se limite pas aux familles avec enfants.

Il s’est passé beaucoup de choses depuis que nous avons décidé de créer, il y a maintenant 3 ans, un panneau d’interprétation pour souligner le travail des marchands de glace locaux et une partie importante de l’histoire d’Aylmer.
J’ai le plaisir de vous annoncer que nos efforts ont porté fruit et que nous en sommes rendus à l’étape du dévoilement.

Le dévoilement se déroulera au parc Guertin à 17 h, et après, vous êtes conviés à un cocktail dînatoire au pavillon Robert-Middlemiss à la marina d’Aylmer (vers 17 h 45).
Et si la pluie décide de jouer les trouble-fêtes, aucun problème… Nous aurons accès à une immense salle avec terrasse extérieure et vue imprenable sur le lac Deschênes.

The following book is being read:
A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby: The story is written in the first-person narrative from the points of view of the four main characters, Martin, Maureen, Jess and JJ. These four strangers happen to meet on the roof of a high building called Toppers’ House in London on New Year’s Eve, each with the intent of committing suicide. Their plans for death in solitude are ruined when they meet. The novel recounts their misadventures as they decide to come down from the roof alive – however temporarily that may be.
For those who are skipping the reading part of book club, there is also an Audio Book available on BaNQ and there’s a movie for rental on iTunes.

A generation later, at a high school dance, Ralph’s daughter and Mitsue’s son fell in love. Although the war toyed with Ralph’s and Mitsue’s lives and threatened to erase their humanity, these two brave individuals somehow surmounted enormous transgressions and learned to forgive.
