La maison du 59 Jubilee fut construite par Jean-Baptiste Dorion vers 1892. Après sa mort, son fils Emmanuel et son épouse Herminie ont habité la maison jusqu'en 1981. Leur fils Robert Raymond Dorion a été tué au combat pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale à l'âge de 18 ans, le 24 novembre 1944. Il fut parti du "Régiment de Maisonneuve RCIC" et est enterré en Hollande au Mémorial de Groesbeek, tombe du Soldat inconnu. Sa mère Herminie Dorion fut nommée Mère nationale de la Croix du Souvenir (Croix d’argent) d'Aylmer et déposa la couronne de la "Mère de la ville" au cénotaphe. Merminie décéda en 1987. Les photos démontrent le soldat Robert Dorion, pris devant le 59 Jubilee avant de partir pour la guerre. La petite fille d'Emmanuel Dorion habite la maison depuis 1981. //////// The house on 59 Jubilee was built by Jean-Baptiste Dorion circa 1892. After his death his son Emmanuel along with his wife Herminie lived in the house until 1981. Their son Robert Raymond Dorion was killed in action during the second world war at the age of 18 on November 24th, 1944. He was with the "Régiment de Maisonneuve R.C.I.C." and is buried in Holland in the Groesbeek Memorial, unknown soldier grave. His mother Herminie Dorion was Aylmer's Silver Cross Mother who laid the "Town Mother" wreath and passed away in 1987. The pictures are of soldier Robert Dorion taken in front of 59 Jubilee street before leaving for war. The granddaughter of Emmanuel Dorion has lived in the house since 1981.
