Rick and I will be moving in just a few weeks after 46 years in this wonderful neighbourhood. While Rick was clearing out a filing cabinet he came across this article that his Dad, Dick Henderson, wrote in January 1985 about the area. At the time his daughter Nola Seaby and her family lived at 23 “James” St., now Riverview. Rick and I had moved from across the street on James St. to 20 Jubilee the year before. Dick was about to build his ‘dream’ home above Nola and George’s home in the summer, a project he didn’t see completed as he passed away in August of that year. Rick and Nola’s Mom, Gloria, moved in and lived there until just a few years ago. George Seaby still lives in the home and his daughter Andrea and her family live there as well. The article is beautifully written and included here. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did today. Great memories. Peggy Henderson

What a wonderful find. Thanks so much for sharing this article. It makes me even more proud to live in this uniquely charming community. Rick, it seems you had a kind and appreciative father.

I’m so glad you shared this with us Rick and Peggy. I’ll find a good permanent home for this somewhere on the website.

And while I thought I knew our wonderful neighbours George and Gisela very well, I did not know they were into archery! They continue to amaze to this day.

            Wow!
We are fairly new to the neighborhood. Buy already have been so welcomed and charmed by all the neighbors. To find out more about the history of the area is fantastic!
            Thank you for sharing!
And I hope you found a wonderful place to move to!
            Take care!

This is amazing, the article, published 40 years ago, describes the spirit of the neighbourhood as if it was written today. We are so happy to be the part of this community! Thank you, Peggy!
