45 years ago we moved into this wonderful community and put down roots! We raised our children here, hosted JARA events, worked on the Executive, started the Book Club, & welcomed so many of you to our Patio. We’ve had every conceivable family event in our home, graduations, weddings, Christmases, grandbabies, family reunions … so many amazing memories. But, after 45 years, we are ready for the next chapter … we will be putting the For Sale sign on 20 Jubilee in the next few days. We will be staying in Aylmer but definitely downsizing. While leaving is bittersweet we are actually very excited for this next chapter. Rick will happily retire his lawn mower and snow blower! That’s it from here, not gone yet so drop by anytime you see us on the Patio! Peggy and Rick Henderson
July 23, 2024 at 6:15 pm #1961It’s a bittersweet moment in the history of our lovely neighbourhood. Sadly, there will be quite a void without your presence here, but happily for you, you’re probably starting a wonderful, exciting new chapter. Please keep us all posted with a timeline so we can at least have a glass of wine together before your departure.
JoanneJuly 23, 2024 at 7:19 pm #1962Hi Peggy,
We barely had a chance to get to know but the few times we talked, you were so nice and inviting. You described this neighborhood very well, it is such an amazing jewel of a place.
I am sure you will find a great place to stay.
All the best to you and Rick!Jacques and Mania
July 23, 2024 at 8:44 pm #1963Aw man, after 20 years we were just warming up to you guys 😉
Like others have posted, this neighbourhood will not be the same without you two. Thanks for having made all of our exchanges (and JARA meetings!) so lively.

July 24, 2024 at 12:04 pm #1964Peggy and Rick – you have been so instrumental in making the JARA neighbourhood the gem that it is. Thank you so much for everything you have done and for being such great neighbours. Paul and I will really miss having you guys across the street. We will definitely have to get together for a sunset before you leave and of course, you will always be welcome to drop by.
Carolyn and PaulJuly 27, 2024 at 9:51 am #1965Good evening .. Rick and Peggy
Sad .. To hear your leaving this great community. The community is losing part of its drama club / book club activities. The drama club / book club provided an opportunity for residents to socialise and stay in close contact.
Rick .. I always loved reading your stories on the history of the Ottawa Valley. I’m still amazed at the amount of research and documenting you did to provide everyone an inside look at what made this part of Quebec unique. I hope you will continue to publish these great stories.
Like others have expressed we are sad to see you go but glad you have started a new chapter in your busy lives here in Aylmer.

July 27, 2024 at 11:16 am #1966Hi Peggy and Rick
Well you both will be missed by all of us in the neighbourhood. Hope you will be moving to somewhere within walking distance. Over the years, I have gone to you, Rick, so many times for information and answers to questions. Peggy, I will miss your friendship, all the laughing and fun times. Make sure you two stay in touch.
Wendy
